I have.
The bailout isn’t working. I thought EVERYONE wanted this?

Seems the markets didn’t agree today.

I’m a pretty big believer in a free market, typically the regular ebb and flow of things would straighten out issues, yes even issues this big.
Sometimes you just have to ride it out, yes even issues this big

Let me interject a quote by a guy named Adam Smith. Those of you who are literate may have heard of him; he wrote “The Wealth of Nations“. It’s an excellent book, I suggest it for a great read on why free markets work… that is when we don’t have government meddling with things. I digress.

It is the highest impertinence and presumption, therefore, in kings and ministers, to pretend to watch over the economy of private people, and to restrain their expense… They are themselves always, and without any exception, the greatest spendthrifts in the society. Let them look well after their own expense, and they may safely trust private people with theirs. If their own extravagance does not ruin the state, that of their subjects never will.

The Wealth of Nations, Book II, Chapter III

So far, I feel so very pwnd. While normally confident that the market would bounce back… I’m not sure it can handle this douchebag decision to bail out bad debt by our bloated, overgrown and power hungry government. Since when did they get the ability to make these decisions without input of the people, oh yea, it was when the people stopped caring about their own future.

I forgot, silly me.

Wow, remind you of anything? This maybe?

Yeah, here… let me help you place this in perspective:

Mr. Obama, I respectfully disagree with your sentiments on this matter as the notion you have just described is already in place and guaranteed by the US Constitution. In fact, the version of this ‘Civilian National Security Force’ which is guaranteed by the US Constitution has been in place for over 200 years and is even BETTER than a government funded, and government run ’security force’.

Yes, my friends it’s called none other than… <drumroll>

THE SECOND AMENDMENT!
It slices and dices and make julian fries. In fact, this idea is SOOOOO radical and progressive it EVEN ALLOWS FOR THE CITIZENS to keep their own government in check by being able to rise up against it should it become too powerful and oppressive. WOW!!!

Read all about it @ WND http://www.wnd.com/index.php?pageId=69601

Use each day as a chance to change someone’s life, and don’t forget how the little things matter.
Compliment someone, give a kind word, get someone a coffee or even a simple smile at a time/place when they would never expect it.

Cherish these moments and let them take your breath away, it’s these things which make it all worth it.
These simple acts are those where God works through you to change someone’s life!

Been wondering lately what happened to my favorite shows, 24 and The Unit. Found out tonight while surfing around that 24 is starting season 7 back up again in January, 2009. The unit however, has a more undetermined fate.

It seems CBS likes the show, but due to the writer’s strike of 2007-2008, CBS decided to put junk on to fill the gaps; now it seems they don’t mind the ratings the junk brought in. Check out this quote from Shawn Ryan, Executive producer of the unit:

Unfortunately, Shawn says, CBS didn’t need the episodes for April and May because the network had filled the schedule with new episodes of reality shows like “Big Brother” and “Survivor.” Shawn assures us that CBS loves the show and that ratings-wise it is a “solid base hit although not a home run against brutal competions in ‘House” and ‘Dancing with the Stars.’
from: SueTube

Have we gone that braindead in this country? Where shows like Survivor and Dancing with the Stars are replacing quality storylines like the unit has?

I still don’t understand why Americans care so much about some celebrity has beens learning how to dance for charity. It makes no sense and carries NO entertainment value.
