Where’s THE UNIT?
Been wondering lately what happened to my favorite shows, 24 and The Unit. Found out tonight while surfing around that 24 is starting season 7 back up again in January, 2009. The unit however, has a more undetermined fate.
It seems CBS likes the show, but due to the writer’s strike of 2007-2008, CBS decided to put junk on to fill the gaps; now it seems they don’t mind the ratings the junk brought in. Check out this quote from Shawn Ryan, Executive producer of the unit:
Unfortunately, Shawn says, CBS didn’t need the episodes for April and May because the network had filled the schedule with new episodes of reality shows like “Big Brother” and “Survivor.” Shawn assures us that CBS loves the show and that ratings-wise it is a “solid base hit although not a home run against brutal competions in ‘House” and ‘Dancing with the Stars.’

Have we gone that braindead in this country? Where shows like Survivor and Dancing with the Stars are replacing quality storylines like the unit has?
I still don’t understand why Americans care so much about some celebrity has beens learning how to dance for charity. It makes no sense and carries NO entertainment value.
